Artist's Comments

This is the anniversary edition for [link]

I drew the sketch on 4 July 2006, a year after making the original version. I finished with the colours two days ago. I did this in order to show people how much I have improved. Sure, I have high-quality materials (e.g. expensive markers), but that is not the reason why I have improved. I have also learned to put more details and add mystifying content to my works. I can notice this, because the girl shows more emotion now than ever before. Not only that, but I'm crazier than before. I still have to work on the faces, but at least it is more interesting than the original "Walking Through the Pavement" piece. She lacked expression, and the colours were flat. I did not add shades or highlights.

She walked, walked, and walked nonstop; it went up to the point where she becomes insane. The strange beings might exist, or she might be a deluded person. You decide. This is art, and each person has his or her own interpretation. It should never be a literal thing.

If you want my opinion, I would say both. People tend to imagine things that have never happened. There are also times when people enjoy using their imagination. That is the reason why books, songs, and cartoons exist today.

Again, it's surreal, because of the dream-like content. Speaking of surreal, Salvador Dali is one my favourite artists. He didn't inspire this picture, but he still inspires me in different ways.

I'm glad I'm improving! I still suck, but it's still progressing.

I really like this! It's very detailed, and you can see the effort. And no, you do not suck. Delusional people are like, amazing, Salvador Dali is awesome, and you have a whole mess of creativity. Go you!

Thank you! Thank you for finding the effort. Yet, I had a feeling that the picture sucks. It must be because the scanner gave it a blurry look. I don't know why I get sad over something scanners do all the time.

Yeah, delusional people rock; the world needs them! "Normal" people are too boring for me.

I find that artistic explorations into insanity are among the funnest and most interesting journeys one can take.

I saw the original, and wow--you've improved. :D I LOVE the colors and vivaciousness for this piece. The girl's expression really sells it; it's like everything she's seeing is so strange, and yet so very familiar.

Keep up the great work!

"Do you doubt the genius of Giblets? That is because you are made of stupid!"

Insanity is fun! XD

Yes, everything must be strange for her, but I'm sure that it is very familiar to the artist (moi, of course).

Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it.

You're welcome! Well, at least you have a scanner, until I get one, I can only put up my poetry. *weeps*
To be honest, it doesn't look blurry to me.

GO DELUSIONAL PEOPLE!

By the way, I'm faving this!

Maybe my irrationality is making me see things, like the "blurs." Poetry is nice; I know people who might give you feedback on them.

Thanks for the :+fav:!

It also reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, without the Disney stuff. It was also a book, but Disney had to make a movie out of it.

The original Disney was the best. Then it all became kiddie fluff except for Fantasia 2000.

If all the transposed elements would tangentialize, everything else follows.
